This is my first time reading anything by 夜光花先生 but WOW! I loved it so MUCH!! I ended up reading it all in one day (yes one day, it takes me a bit longer to read in Japanese & I was unfamiliar with many of the Onmyouji-related terms) I gave myself a headache because all I did was read!!
I really really love the 受け - his looks and personality are so my type! The 攻め is so handsome and cool, too. I like him in his 鬼 form more than the human one though hehe
There were some surprises along the way and towards the end of the novel, the scene with 伊織 almost made me cry!! I'm looking forward to finding out what happens to him in the next two novels. I've already purchased VOL 2 and I will spend the rest of this week finishing that and 3!

This was the first Japanese BL novel I read! I was drawn in by the beautiful cover illustration~ Reading the summary, I knew I was going to love it. I really love 受け's type of personality hehe A little bit of stubborn but deep down, he's got a good heart! The 攻め was so perfectly written as well~ Handsome and so doting!! My favorite!!! After reading this one, I read a ton of 安西先生's novels and they were all very good.
Always looking forward to more and more of her stories, she's got such a wonderful way with words.

Umino-sensei is my most favorite BL author!! I've read a ton of her novels so far and still going.
策士と奥手の攻防戦 is one of my most favorites from her work collection. I usually don't like age-difference as a genre, but it works so well in this story, I definitely did not mind it. It’s such a cute and wholesome story, with some funny surprises along the way! I really love how the POV switches between the 攻め and 受け. I like to see how they both think so it was nice that it flip flopped. I also really enjoyed the 受け's personality. He was soo sooo funny, the way he acted versus his inner monologue. Truly, so adorable!
I'm always looking forward to more of Umino-sensei's works~
