何度も読めるゴッドレベル作品

This is one of those books that kept me glued to each and every page until the very end, after which I re-read the book maybe 35 times before obsessing over the blcd and live action.

This novel is in no way realistic - it definitely over-dramatises the whole 王様 x loser trope which can be a little cringey for some people for sure (ngl the live action drama kinda did it dirty for me) BUT I felt that the overall speed (ie slooooooooow burn) and dynamics of Hira and Kiyoi were written well enough to help me close one eye

<3

aaaaand with that I've finished reading all three books in this series and BOY AM I DEVASTATED because this series was so good (':

to be super, duper honest however, I liked the second book more than this one. Maybe because the second book still had to deal with them getting together, so that element of heart-wrenchingness (???) was still there but for this book, I felt that I didn't get that oomph that the first and second book gave me. Also, I felt that there were too few drawing scenes and some scenes which should have been illustrated (eg: Ed and Rei getting reuniting at the airport) weren't. Many scenes were so emotionally-charged bu without the illustrations, it just made them fall a little short.

I DID HOWEVER LOVE THE THROWBACK SCENE IN THE BEGINNING with Ed and Rei playing in the snow, now that really made my day because Ed has been completely smitten since the start.

I'll say this again, I need there to be a spin-off for both Gil and Orlando. The two of them deserve so much happiness too pls sensei give my boys some love ):

it was a great journey with this book and I'm so glad I picked it up. Now I'm just gonna wait for any extras because my love for EdxRei can't stop here!!

正直ね。。。

I liked the idea of the book. Yuri having split personalities because he was tortured and Ryoichi falling in love with one of them... yeah, I liked the idea. But I felt the execution wasn't the best. I bought the book because of the stellar reviews but in all honesty, to me, it didn't live up to the hype. It just didn't leave that much of an impression on me and didn't suck me in. I also didn't really feel the chemistry between the two characters. I felt it for Mitsuki and Ryoichi, but for Yuri... not so much. Maybe I'll give the book another shot and read it again but for now, I'll shelve this as one of the books that I've read, but not under the category of books that I truly enjoyed.

この傑作は良すぎる

I finished both this and パブリックスクール-檻の中の王- in record time because this series is that interesting. I understand some people may not like the setting of the story (the overly jealous, over protective, over the top ideky how the uke can tolerate him kind of seme and the weak uke who's clueless about everything in the world) but it's my guilty pleasure so let me live (':

I think that Rei is a little bit too clueless. It was a little unbelievable for him to not know Edward's feelings towards him for over a decade, and I didn't really like Ed's anger bolts. How he raped Rei was not right, even though Rei liked it. That part was a little uncomfortable for me to read but it's consensual (???) so I'll close one eye. But I have to say I really liked Rei's character development. I like how he was kind, but slowly moved away from being a pushover to someone whom people wanted to protect.

Now talking about the other characters. I LOVE JONAS AND I'M SO HAPPY THAT HE GOT MARRIED LIKE YES MY BOI YOU BE HAPPY WITH THE ONE YOU LOVE ORITE he's such a sweetheart and my favourite line of his was when he scolded Ed and was all like 「やめなさい、エド。お前はいつもそうなの。礼を放しなさい」 like I deadass laughed because Ed actually listened to him?? YOU GO MY LITTLE BEAUTIFUL ROSE I LOVE YOU.

I felt really bad for Gilbert though. He loved Rei, you could tell, but Rei's heart belonged to Ed from the very first time they met and he knew he stood no chance. I really really really hope there will be a spin-off of his story, I want to see my little buddy happy ):

All in all, a great read. It was interesting and kept me on my toes and I can't wait to read the final book (though I'm really sad cos that means my journey with this series is over ): )

すごく良かったです!

Random english review passing through don't mind me (':

I read this before reading 365+1 but the thing I really love about Nagira Yuu's books is that you don't have to read the first book to follow the plot of the second (unless you're reading Utsukushii Kare, then that's a different issue altogether cos YOU HAVE TO READ THE FIRST ONE COS HIRA AND KIYOI ARE CUTE AF).

So yes back to the review. I liked the pace of the book, and I liked seeing how Miyama gradually opened up to Kubota. You could literally see and feel the ice walls slowly breaking down around him.

I liked how the author brought in Kubota's old flame, and how Kubota remained unmoving throughout her entire thingy with her fiancee. His feelings for Miyama were strong and real and I could literally feel the passion in their relationship overflowing, especially in the ahem ahem scenes huhu

I would definitely re-read this again. Imvho, you don't really have to read 365+1 to understand this book, but I guess it would give a little more depth to Miyama's and Kubota's character.
